We investigated a conventional adaptive resource allocation scheme for the downlink of multihop OFDMA systems. It has formulated an optimization problem for an adaptive subcarrier-, path-, and power-allocation scheme that maximizes system capacity while guaranteeing minimum resources for each user. Since the optimization problem should be performed in real-time, recently, a heuristic algorithm has proposed for reducing complexity. But It is not appropriate to implement in cooperative OFDMA systems with radio frequency (RF) relays, moreover its feedback quantity is very much to real-time operation and relay load-balancing scheme is iterative and inefficient. Thus, we propose an improved heuristic resource allocation algorithm than the conventional scheme in this thesis. It is proper to cooperative OFDMA systems with RF relays and has advantages of reducing complexity and increasing capacity as well.
