Video-based home workout is an accessible exercise method that people can use to maintain their physical health at home, regardless of time and money. However, the physical video screen breaks the flow of complex and multidirectional motions. In this paper, we analyze the user's exercise experience with fitness videos and design an Augmented Reality(AR) exercise system that can augment the virtual screen in various layouts. In addition, we develop an example AR yoga prototype and evaluate the exercise experience of each visualization layout through a user study. We organize the insights from the study results and discuss the design improvement that could lay a foundation stone for the future metaverse home workout system.
