본 발명은 락틸-CoA를 기질로 이용하여 락테이트 중합체 및/또는 공중합체를 합성할 수 있는 슈도모나스 속 6-19(Pseudomonas sp. 6-19, KCTC 11027BP) 유래의 폴리하이드록시알카노에이트 합성효소(polyhydroxyalkanoate synthase, PHA synthase)의 변이체에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 또한 이러한 합성효소 변이체를 이용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 락테이트 중합체 및/또는 공중합체의 제조방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 슈도모나스 속 6-19 유래의 폴리하이드록시알카노에이트 합성효소 변이체는 종래 폴리하이드록시알카노에이트 합성효소가 기질로 사용하는데 어려움이 있었던 락틸-CoA를 기질로 사용하여 락테이트 중합체 및/또는 공중합체를 고효율로 제조할 수 있다. 폴리하이드록시알카노에이트 합성효소 변이체
