Studies on artificial peptides and coordination complexes using tetrahydrothiophene-based chiral β-amino acid테트라하이드로싸이오펜 기반 카이랄 베타-아미노산을 이용한 인공 펩타이드와 배위화합물에 관한 연구

Research using thioether functional group found in the natural amino acid, methionine, is a promising research topic in peptidomimetics and bioinorganics. Thioether has the potential to allow for a variety of chemical modi-fications, as well as coordination using a characteristic of a soft Lewis base. In this thesis I address, a series of α/β-peptide, featuring ATTC ((3S,4R)-4-aminotetrahydrothiophene-3-carboxylic acid), were synthesized, and structural specificity were identified in solid and solution states. Further-more, by coordinating ATTC as a ligand with CuX, novel structures were obtained, and explored optical proper-ties and thermal stability. This research, using sulfur-containing β-amino acid, not only indicates the possibility that it can be used to extend the library of foldamers and to control elaborative self-assembled structures, but also suggests ligand designs for coordination complex controlled structure and properties.
