비례제어가 가능한 볼-램프 클러치 장치가 제공된다. 볼-램프 클러치 장치는, 백래쉬나 마찰에 의한 비선형성이 없으면서 비례제어가 가능하기 때문에, 슬립 제어가 필요한 차량 변속 장치나 동력 분배 장치에 적용될 수 있다. 볼-램프 클러치 장치는 피니언-랙 방식의 클러치 장치에 비하여 크기와 무게가 작아서 연비와 성능이 높으며 비선형성이 없기 때문에 제어성능이 향상된다.
