Summary We divided ankle into 2 areas (medial/lateral) and implemented force reaction element to calculate the ankle contact force. Walking data of normal and flatfoot were measured using motion capture, force plate and pressure mat. We performed a musculoskeletal simulation using a 5-segment. The total ankle contact force of flatfoot was 31% larger than normal. Medial and Lateral ankle contact forces were 18% and 56% larger, respectively.
