In this research, development of bioengineered biomimetic scaffolds is suggested for studying microenvironment and treatment as an active treatment for glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most devastating cancer with high mortality, showing remarkable infiltration. Due to the remaining infiltrated GBM cells, current therapeutic approaches are still insufficient to reduce the high death rate of GBM patients, thus a novel treatment is acutely needed to be developed. In part I, the microenvironment models for GBM are suggested to identify the pro-invasive factors and find a new targeted therapy. In part II, a post-surgical, tumor adhesive filling material is suggested as a new, active therapeutic strategies for GBM treatment. Bioengineered scaffolds-based developments could contribute to improvement of survival rates in GBM patients.
