In order to enhance competitiveness, the enterprise requires a systematic approach to develop the products or processes in a short time and a low cost. In the metal forming area, computer aided engineering(CAE) for process analysis, artifical intelligence(AI) for automatic process design, database(DB) for group technology and computer aided design(CAD) have achieved a great success during the last decades respectively. For shortening the cycle to develop forming processes, the application of the CAE, AI, DB and CAD can be effective. In this study, an integrated design supporting system for CIM plant of multiple forging processes is presented. Using the developed system, the cycle of process development is successively reduced by compressing each design operations by and parallelizing the each operation.
