dc.description.abstract | The simultaneous measurement of strain and temperature is necessary for structural health monitoring of composite structures under diverse temperature environments. The FBG (fiber Bragg grating) sensor head is formed by two FBGs, normal and reverse index FBGs, fabricated by different procedures. The FBG sensor head offers the possibility of multiplexing and embedment, a straightforward measurement system and greater reliability due to the absence of a splicing operation. We evaluated the sensor head analytically and experimentally. | - |
