We demonstrated a wavelength-division-multiplexing passive optical network using a multiple section Fabry-Perot laser diode without a seed light. The electrical envelope tuning of the laser enables color-free operation at 1.25 Gb/s with 100-GHz channel spacing. The mode partition noise is mitigated by shifting the signal spectrum.-
