dc.description.abstractWe introduce a numerical method to Solve the two-dimensional time-dependent Schrodinger equation of a single-electron atom under an intense laser field. Instead of a two-dimensional spatial grid, a symmetry basis set of the field-free Hamiltonian is used to represent the wavefunction, which may substantially reduce the computing time. Furthermore. the eigenstates of the atom call be labeled by using the quantum number related to the basis set, which may facilitate the analysis involving eigenstates. As all application of the method, single attosecond pulse generation with a polarization-gated laser pulse is investigated.-
