Results are presented of a designed straight coupled transmission line (CTL) cell with a 3 x 3 cm test zone for calibrating small electromagnetic (EM) field probes up to about 900 MHz in air. The field uniformity and frequency bandwidth of the straight CTL cell are compared to those of a symmetric transverse electromagnetic (TEM) cell with the same afore mentioned test zone. It can provide the standard EM fields with high field uniformity and broadband frequency range simultaneously.
