The modal testing theory for rotors with rotating asymmetry is briefly discussed, and the modal testing procedure for the rotor with shaft stiffness asymmetry is demonstrated using a magnetic exciter equipped with Hall sensors which measure the excitation forces. It is shown experimentally that the oneexciter/ two-sensor technique for complex modal testing of asymmetric rotors is superior to the standard two-exciter/two-sensor technique in terms of practicality and realization.-
