dc.description.abstractThe temperature dependence of the elastic constant c(55) of ZrTiO4 crystal has been studied by ultrasonic method. In the incommensurate phase c(55) is found to soften towards the commensurate-incommensurate transition temperature T-c. The transition mechanism is discussed phenomenologically.
