A study on the biodegradability of PCL/SAN blend was performed with the composting test method. The weight loss of the blend film containing more than 50 wt% PCL with composting time was very significant, while the change was negligible in case of the CL25 sample containing 25 wt% PCL. The change of molecular weight of the PCL component of the blend during composting showed a similar tendency to the change of the weight loss of the blend. These results were interpreted on the basis of morphological and kinetic factors. (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Limited-
