The adhesively bonded tubular double lap joint has better torque transmission capability and reliability than the single lap joint. However, both the analytic and numerical analyses of the adhesively bonded tubular double lap joint are more difficult than those of the adhesively boned tubular single lap joint. Moreover, the torque transmission capability of the joint should be calculated using the nonlinear shear behavior of the adhesive because the majority of load transfer of the joint is accomplished by the nonlinear shear behavior of the adhesive. In this paper, to obtain the torque transmission capabilities of the adhesively bonded tubular double lap joints easily, an iterative solution which include the nonlinear shear behavior of the adhesive was derived. Since the iterative solution can be obtained very quickly due to its simple calculation algorithm, it has been found that it can be sued in the design of the adhesively bonded tubular double lap joint.
