dc.description.abstract | A partially parabolized Navier-Stokes solution procedure for the transitional separation bubble has been developed. By coupling with the far-field potential-flow solution, the calculation domain can be kept relatively small to minimize the computation time. Using the eddy-viscosity turbulence model of Baldwin and Lomax, it is shown that the procedure is capable of capturing the details of the separation bubble. The results are in excellent agreement with experimental data and exhibit a marked improvement over those of existing interactive boundary-layer procedures for the cases examined. | - |
