dc.description.abstractA highly accurate higher-order Taylor-Galerkin method for the analysis of structural dynamics problems is presented. The method, at comparable computational costs, yields more accurate results for certain classes of problems than the one-step Taylor-Galerkin method as well as conventional time-integration schemes such as the Newmark and Wilson-theta methods. An analysis of the accuracy and stability of the proposed scheme is presented. Applications of the method to structural vibration problems are presented and the results are compared with those from other well-known methods.-
