dc.description.abstract | The IM and FM modulation characteristics of a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser are studied. The laser has high FM efficiency and broad IM bandwidth (near 8 GHz) at a very low bias (4.5 mA). We demonstrate 5 Gb/s pseudorandom direct intensity modulation of this laser with open eyes. | - |
