A three-dimensional SOFT (self-organizing finite-element tessellation) mesh generator, based on self-organizing topology-preserving feature maps, is developed for electromagnetic field problems. A user-supplied probability function controls the density of the graded mesh, and local mesh refinements are easily incorporated. (C) 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
