ActivePen

Abstract

The pen computer has been popular in recent years. The pen was the most familiar input device to the people in the age of paper. However, now, the mouse and keyboard has been the most popular input devices to the people with the spread of computer, because the advantages of the pen are not applied to the existing stylus. Precisely speaking, the existing stylus does not give haptic feedbacks to the user. Therefore, the user can not use the pen like a real pen. And the user has many mistakes at using the pen computer. For solving this problem, we made ActivePen that is the haptic feedback stylus. ActivePen uses two kinds of haptic feedback, the prominence & depression movement and the vibration movement. And ActivePen suggests three types of pen according to the interaction style. By using ActivePen, we enhance the shortcoming of the existing stylus and make the more realistic feeling than the existing stylus can.
