This thesis presents burst error reduction algorithm using adaptive interleaver in Voice over MPLS.
VoMPLS can be used efficiently to delivery the voice packet through LSP which can give the voice quality we expect from the telephone system over IP network, with their long highly variable delays and losses. But the burst error occurs when an LSP of normal traffic shares one LSR with the other LSP of burst error traffic. It increases the packet loss and has difficulties to handle. So, the simple and robust burst error reduction algorithm is needed to reduce the packet loss.
The proposed model supports burst error control scheme using feedback mechanism. We proposed burst error reduction algorithm using adaptive interleaver and this algorithm is applied when transmitted voice packet faces burst error during long congestion period. We restricted the burst error situation which takes extremely high utilization which limits the capacity of links and showed the effect of burst error by them. The proposed approach keeps the packet loss probability about $10^{-3}$ and improves the packet loss probability about 90% under the burst error. Finally, we compare our proposed algorithms with and without adaptive interleaver under the burst error.
