dc.description.abstract | In this paper we propose a novel dynamic bandwidth allocation scheme to guarantee the Class of Service (CoS) and to enhance the upstream data channel``s performance by introducing multiple queues with virtual LAN tagged Ethernet frame and by introducing the real time scheduling method in FTTC optical access networks. Firstly, we propose a novel queue configuration of the access node which targets CoS guarantee by bandwidth preoccupation scheme for high class traffic and targets enhancement of the channel utilization by revising dynamic bandwidth allocation scheme for lower class traffic. This differentiated service method per each traffic class is appropriate for real time service in packet based TDM networks. The relationship between traffic condition and service discipline is analyzed by simulation. Secondly, we propose a noble bandwidth arbitration scheme to guarantee the fairness of channel access chances and thus prevent the channel monopolization problem by adopting threshold-based bandwidth allocation. Because the proposed scheme is operated based only on the report message information and simple table, it can reduce the computational complexity and increase the adoptability against rapid change of network condition. | eng |
