Numerous researches have been done in the field of 1:1 Ontology Mapping and Modularization in the last few years but there hasn’t been much research done in block mapping of ontologies that produces an M: N mapping. Block mapping on one hand can improve the overall mapping accuracy over 1:1 map-ping by discovering mapping indirectly through similar services and other hand can be very useful to get the information about other semantically similar concepts in the ontologies.
In this thesis, we propose a semantic M: N ontology mapping approach which maps block in one ontology to blocks in another ontology. This approach first creates modules or blocks of similar concepts (classes and properties) within each ontologies and then calculates the similarity between the blocks of the ontologies to create mapping.
