dc.description.abstractThis thesis presents RSVP-enabled Differentiated Service (DiffServ) network architecture and Ingress router architecture for Voice over IP service. The proposed network supports Differentiated Service through pure IP network and RSVP in ingress node of DiffServ network. Proposed DiffServ network supports RSVP tunneling through the network and DiffServ ingress router supports admission control using RSVP. Admission control using RSVP is based on available resource. Proposed RSVP-enabled DiffServ ingress node supports Multi-Field (MF) classification and shaping function using Single Rate Two Level Traffic conditioner. All incoming traffic is classified by MF classifier, shaped by bucket algorithm and scheduled by priority queueing scheme. Classification is based on admission control using RSVP and classifier maintains lookup table for admission controlled traffic. Shaper consists of leaky bucket for Expedited Forwarding (EF) and token bucket for Assured Forwarding (AF) class. Leaky bucket for EF class is controlled according to RSVP reservation state. Also RSVP reservation is divided by RSVP reservation style, distinct style and shared style, and processed by two leaky buckets. All proposed network is simulated and analyzed by OPNET simulator.eng
