Solitons in laser waveguides

Abstract

When the third order dispersion is considered in optical fibers under Kerr effect, translating informations over long distance by solitons are possible through two types of Hirota equations which contain the nonlinear Schrodinger equation as a special case. This results are consistent with experimental results known to date.
