dc.description.abstractThe fixed boundary kink instabilities of a large aspect ratio, low-β tokamak are investigated by solving the reduced ideal MHD equations with helical symmetry assumption on the computer. We obtain several results of nonlinear evolution for different equilibrium parameters. The results show that the magnetic field is not perturbed, while the instabilities manifest themselves as the convection of the velocity field.eng
