dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study is to develope a dynamic computer model for simulating the water-lithium bromide absorption heat transformer including all major components, and to find the flexibility in operation. To predict the performances of an absorption heat transformer by using this model, the coefficient of performance, temperature boost and concentration difference are used. The effects of source hot water temperature, cooling water temperature, flow rates and heat exchanger effectiveness are investigated. The method of analysis is performed by selecting a nominal condition and determining performance for variables with others held constant. The performance study indicates that the performances of this system increase as the waste hot water temperature increases and the cooling water temperature decreases. The effect on performances of mass flow rates are small except on temperature boost. Also, the effects on performance of heat exchanger effectiveness are small except on coefficient of performance. The computer program is valuable to predict the performance of absorption heat transformer units.eng
