dc.description.abstract | Many experimental works show that the network traffic is self-similar. Accordingly, the performance analysis of a queue serving FBM traffic under the Rayleigh fading channel is important. The FBM traffic and the Rayleigh fading channel model are chosen as general models for self-similar traffic and fading wireless channel, respectively. We first find a Gaussian process which approximates the capacity process of the Rayleigh fading channel, and then derive the overflow probability of the queue based on the Gaussian process. The effect of Rayleigh fading on the queue performance and the accuracy of our model are shown throughout the simulation studies. | eng |
