Selective versioning for transaction management in data warehousing

To speed up online analytical processing, data warehousing systems materialize views derived from several operational databases. When the operational databases happen to change, the materialized views get stale. To enhance the freshness of the materialized views, this article proposes a new concurrency control scheme that makes use of selective versioning to aid analytical transactions in continuously accessing fresh data.
