This thesis deals with a scheduling problem of double hoist operation systems in chemical processes. For the model developed, a procedure is proposed which finds a maximum throughput cyclic schedule. It is enumerative in nature and utilizes the solution of Mixed Integer Programming(MIP). Additionally, alternative configurations of the hoist system are considered such as multiple tanks of a same type and the loading tank being identical with the unloading tank. Real world problems are solved to show the validity of the models.
