The tuning frequency of conventional RF coils is relatively low and hence its application range in high field NMR imaging is limited to a small object. To solve this problem, a new design is suggested and developed. This new design includes distributed phase coil to be described. Comparison of signal-to-noise ratio between the conventional coils and distributed phase coil is carried out. To see the field homogeneity of the distributed phase RF coil, computer simulation was carried out and its results are presented. An RF coil with tuning frequency of 30 MHz is realized and its performance is tested.
