NMR spectroscopic imaging is very useful for in vivo metabolic study and for high resolution imaging without chemical shift artifact and field inhomogeneity effects in high field NMR imaging. An optimum data sampling technique for NMR spectroscopic imaging is proposed to reduce imaging time and improve the spectral resolution. This proposed optimum sampling technique is used for NMR spectroscopic imaging in conjuction with the echo-time encoding technique and matrix inversion to resolve each interesting spectral information. Echo-time encoding using proposed optimum sampling technique was tried to obtain proton spectroscopic image of phantom with 2.0 tesla KAIS NMR imaging system.
