This work presents the architecture of ATSC terrestrial/cable tuner which is highly competitive in the tuner market. Among the various receiver architectures, direct conversion architecture is an optimum solution for low cost. In addition, this work is focused on designing a mixer which can avoid harmonic mixing. The prososed mixer over-samples RF input and suppress harmonic frequency component by passive switched-capacitor decimation filter. The channel of interest is down-converted by decimation.
