Time-optimal control problems for systems with time-delays are studied under the bounded constraints on the control input. First, by using the linear programming approach, an efficient control algorithm with time-suboptimality is derived in discrete-time domain for an open-loop solution of dynamic systems with time-delays. Various schemes are incorporated which reduces computation time. For dynamic systems with time-delays in the state variable, a quadratic approximation of the state trajectory is used. The real-time computing constraints are incorporated in developing feedback on-line controllers with time-suboptimality property. Second, by using the prediction methods, a time-optimal feedback controller is obtained, for a special class of systems with pure delay in control. Sensitivities and parameter identification method are also studied. A number of examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithms.
