This thesis studies the parallel computation aspects of Pagoda Object Support Environment (POSE) system which support object-based parallel, distributed computation within a distributed system. We believe that the generation of multiple active objects at the initial time of the application program is an important factor in the achievement of a high degree of parallelism Not only such generation, we also believe that the availability of asynchronous method invocation is another important factor of the high degree of parallelism. In this thesis, we present overview of the POSE system and models of parallel computation in the POSE system. We also present sample programs which written in other distributed programming language systems and the POSE system. After the presentation of such sample program, we also present the performance analysis on each language systems with comparison on the POSE application performance measurement. From the comparison of the parallel computation model and performance measurement experiment, we believe that the computation model for the POSE system be a robust basis for attaining a high degree of parallelism. key words:object, object state, parallel computation. pagota system.
