Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is a radar that generates two-dimensional images of detection areas. Unlike optical radar, it is widely used for earth observation, reconnaissance, and surveillance because it has no limitations regarding climate conditions or operation time. High-resolution imaging involves methods that enhance the resolution, the basic performance indicator of imaging radars, in the direction of radar progression. Ground-moving target detection method is a technique that identifies moving objects within an image using interferograms obtained from multiple SAR images. However, high-resolution imaging techniques inevitably require high-performance receivers with high sampling frequency and large-capacity storage, and multi-channel systems are needed to secure multiple SAR data. Therefore, radars with these capabilities are expensive to implement and generally have constraints on the platform that can be mounted since they are bulky and heavy. Deramping receivers are widely used to ease these restrictions. In this study, the author focuses on the unique radar signal models and characteristics that occur when received through deramping technology. Accordingly, an efficient high-resolution imaging formation technique, a design method for a practical ground-moving target detector, and corresponding accurate and robust moving object velocity estimation algorithms are introduced.
