All-optical manipulation of intracavity multi-soliton dynamics through Brillouin scattering in optical fiber Kerr resonator광섬유 커 공진기 내 브릴루앙 산란을 이용한 다중 공진기 솔리톤 동역학의 전광 제어에 관한 연구

This thesis explores methods to control the dynamics of intracavity multi-solitons in fiber Kerr resonators using Brillouin scattering in two distinct approaches. First, the soliton formation dynamics in the fiber resonator where the Brillouin scattering has been allowed to be lasing from noise have been theoretically and experimentally investigated. The lasing of Brillouin scattering leads to a flattening intra-cavity power across a wide range of cavity detuning, which aids forward Brillouin scattering in contributing to gain of modulation instability, resulting in the formation of an optical Turing pattern with the period of transverse acoustic wave in the optical fiber. At high driving power, this pattern has evolved into formation of supramolecular-soliton-arrays with the same period. Amid the soliton formation, it has been demonstrated that breathing dynamics occur in presence of the interplay among modulation instability, forward Brillouin scattering and backward Brillouin scattering. Second, the wide-range-tunability of modulation instability frequency has been demonstrated by Brillouin scattering in gain-transparent scheme, which arises from frequency-selective detuning change only exerted within the narrow bandwidth of Brillouin scattering around the driving mode. Our work may pave the way for Brillouin scattering to enable reconfigurable control of nonlinear dynamics, applicable to advanced signal processing in nonlinear cavities and lasers.
