dc.description.abstractRecently, EVs (Electric Vehicles) increased their pack voltage from 400V to 800V. It has shortened the charging time but, DC fast chargers now need to consider both 400V and 800V systems. Such broad output voltage range decreases the efficiency of the chargers. The topology morphing technique can be used in this case to have advantage in the efficiency. However, there’s not enough research about protection method for the topology morphing technique. Therefore, this paper introduces diode clamping overcurrent protection method that can be applied to topology morphing LLC resonant converter for DC fast EV chargers’ case.-
