dc.description.abstract | 1. Rh-Catalyzed one-pot and practical transformation of aldoximes to amides A highly efficient and selective catalytic protocol has been developed for the one-pot conversion of aldoximes to amides under essentially neutral conditions. Wilkinson’s complex can be used as a catalyst for the one-pot transformation of aldoximes to the corresponding amides in good to excellent yield. Aldoximes are prepared easily from the reaction of aldehyde and hydroxylamine hydrochloride. Many functional groups are tolerated under the reaction conditions. 2. Studies on Suzuki and Sonogashira Cross Coupling Reactions Catalyzed by Ru/Alumina It has been found that a new and practical catalyst system of ruthenium supported on alumina carried out Suzuki cross coupling and copper-free Sonogashira coupling reaction. Especially in the Suzuki couplings, the reactions could be efficiently carried out with as low as 1 mol % of the supported catalyst over a wide range of substrates, and the reactions could be scaled up to a few grams without any practical problems, giving coupled products with high purity by a simple workup procedure. The Ru-catalyzed Sonogashira reaction exhibits high activity and selectivity over a range of substrates, allowing the coupling reactions to proceed efficiently even in the absence of copper cocatalysts. | eng |
