Analysis of Medical Devices EMC Problems due to Leakage Magnetic Field generated in Wireless Charging System of Electric Vehicle

This paper analyzed the effects of medical devices in the wireless charging environment of electric vehicles. Wireless power transfer technology, which is currently being prepared for commercialization, is applied for electric vehicles. Depending on the type of medical devices, if it malfunctions, it can have a fatal effect on the patient's life, so it is necessary to thoroughly analyze the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) problem according to the external electromagnetic environment. Therefore, in this paper, the leakage magnetic field generated during wireless charging of electric vehicles was analyzed and the effect on active medical devices operating through power was identified. Modeling and analysis were conducted using Maxwell 3D, an EM simulation tool, and the induced voltage generated by the magnetic field from electric vehicles in the medical device was calculated and analyzed.
