There are available quite a few proprietary simulation languages that can be used in healthcare simulation. They are very useful tools for the simulation practitioners, and as a result, they have been widely used in a variety of practical case studies. However, most of the discrete event system models described in the literature were built for specific hospitals and are rarely reused. This paper presents a parameterized modeling approach to constructing a reusable model of outpatient departments in university hospitals. A parameterized model allows to build a'composite' model for a class of discrete-event systems so that individual instances of the systems are defined in a data-driven way. In this paper, the parameterized A CD (P-A CD) formalism is employed in building a generic model of a'composite' outpatient department.
