We propose a new class of time-variant metasurfaces as an effective platform for the frequency conversion of light. The proposed metasurface exhibits extremely steep phase gradient reaching 4p over a narrow frequency window and a relatively slight temporal change in the material properties can induce a rapid phase sweep of the transmitted wave.
