dc.description.abstract | D-band provides a wide bandwidth, so it is attracting attention because it is suitable for a communication system with high data rate or radar with high distance resolution. Therefore, it is becoming important to create a good quality signal source in the D-band. Direct generation of signals in the D-band through a voltage controlled oscillator is not good in terms of phase noise and efficiency. On the other hand, a method of multiplying a frequency from a low frequency using a frequency multiplier is effective in terms of phase noise and efficiency. In this thesis, a D-band x12 frequency multiplier chain was proposed. A 37.5, 42-GHz injection-locked frequency tripler with a wide locking range and high efficiency was proposed. A 75-GHz push-push frequency doubler with high harmonic suppression and conversion gain was proposed. A 75-GHz frequency sixtupler was designed by integrating a 37.5-GHz injection-locked frequency tripler and a 75-GHz push-push frequency doubler. A D-band x12 frequency multiplier chain was designed by integrating a 150-GHz push-push frequency doubler and a 75-GHz frequency sixtupler. | - |
