dc.description.abstract | Pyridine is a widespread moiety which is frequently found in medical compounds and fine chemicals, and its functionalization reactions have been intensely studied, but challenging points such as selectivity and over-reactivity due to the existence of several reaction sites still remain. In addition, alkene, which is used as a simple building block for complex structures, is commonly used for atom- and step-economical difunctionalization based on the advantages of high reactivity and accessibility, while site-selectivity is one of the major issues during the reaction. Therefore, in this thesis, I introduced a series of reactions overcoming such limitation with pyridium salts through radical-based mechanism under visible-light-mediated photocatalytic system to maintain the intrinsic reactivity, induce the predominance of one regioisomeric product over another, and enable the late-stage functionalization of bioactive molecules under mild conditions. | - |
