1. Gold-catalyzed bicycloketalization of alkyne-diols provides synthetic advantages when compare to that of keto-diols under acidic conditions. The relative inertness of the alkyne moiety compared to that of the ketone group provided us with strategic flexibility that enabled orthogonal protecting group manipulation of five hydroxyl groups during the total syntehses of attenols.
2. Nm23-H1 is a protein that suppresses cancer metastasis when its NDPK activity increases. Nm23-H1 activator NMac 1 is a metastasis suppressor natural product and its derivatives were explored. Also NMac1 activating compounds also shows cytotoxic effects under glucose deprived conditions.
