In this dissertation, a new structure of a power supply device that satisfies the high efficiency and high density of the wireless power transfer (WPT) system is proposed. The WPT system is divided into a transmitter (TX) that sends power and a receiver (RX) that receives power and charges the final battery. Among them, in the case of the RX module, since it is mounted on a mobile device, it is very important to achieve high power density in terms of compact size and mobility. Accordingly, in the case of RX module, by using a self-compensated planar coil to replace the capacitance generated between adjacent coil patterns as compensation capacitors, it is possible to eliminate the compensation capacitors that occupies a large volume in the conventional structure. In addition, in the case of the conventional RX module, it is difficult to achieve high power density since the conventional RX module has two power stages with a rectifier stage and a battery control converter that supplies stable power to the battery. So as to solve these problems, the proposed RX module has only a single power stage by integrating a single-switch into the rectifier stage. Therefore, the proposed converters satisfy high efficiency and high power density power supplies suitable for WPT systems since the proposed structure utilizes a self-compensated planar coil and a single power stage.
