Two-dimensional (2D) materials have attracted considerable attention as one of the ideal material groups in nanotechnology due to their outstanding physical properties. Over the past decade, the probing and analysis of various physical properties of 2D materials have provided fundamental information for in-depth comprehension and specialized applications. Recently, diverse technologies for controlling physical properties have been actively investigated, providing a new degree of freedom in the design and realization of effective 2D devices. This dissertation employs ultrafast spectroscopy to examine the optical/electrical properties of various 2D materials, including graphene, metallic transition metal dichalcogenides, and topological insulators. Particularly, I intend to focus on the pathway of controlling physical properties on an ultrafast timescale using interlayer coupling and vibrations.
