Study on the evaluation and analysis of strategic fostering industries: focusing on the renewable energy industries전략적 육성 산업 평가 분석에 관한 연구: 신재생에너지 산업을 중심으로
Fostering industries through strategic industrial policies is an important factor in securing national competitiveness. Huge budgets are invested in fostering industries over a long period of time and various incentives and regulatory instruments are provided for industry development. Analyzing the development of industries through strategic fostering and feedback on the policy-making process based on this helps to establish and implement more effective policies. In this dissertation, an analysis method for the strategic fostering industry was presented and applied to the renewable energy industry. The first essay attempted to provide policy implications by confirming changes in forward and backward linkage effect and inducement effect of the renewable energy industry and related value chain industry by using input-output analysis. The second essay estimated the total power generation cost and total ripple effect until 2030 and partially verified the validity of the policy according to the recent renewable energy generation plan. As a result, it was found that the renewable energy industry is changing in a direction similar to the existing electricity power industry, and the total economic ripple effect is sufficient compared to the total power generation cost and investment cost according to the future plan. Such applied analysis methods based on input-output analysis can be widely conducted to various industries, and through this, it is expected to contribute to research that helps establish national strategic industrial policies.
