Recently, many defense technology Institutes have been focusing on a radar sensor to detect the target at the point of height of burst (HOB) accurately. The Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar sensor is appropriate to the proximity fuse in the defense area because two antennas on the radar sensor can transmit and receive the signal simultaneous with low loss. Especially, an antenna is one of the most significant part of the radar sensor to detect the target widely and accurately, and low-profile and lightweight antenna has been in the limelight at mmWave band. There are many types of low-profile and lightweight antenna for the FMCW radar sensor, and the patch antenna type has widely been used in recent industrial radar systems for low-cost, low-profile, and lightweight.
